So, change of plan engine wise, I need some turbo noises in my life so I'm in the process of fitting a z20let into the car.
I'll update the thread properly later with pics

So first job was to remove the old engine, I've done this plenty of times so it didnt take too long.

I've also been getting my new engine ready.
I've had the head off and given it a freshen up.
Also the turbo has been rebuilt as there was some play in the shaft

I've also been getting the car ready for the conversion, I needed to make space for the alternator so cut out and plated up the chassis leg

plus I've been gathering all the parts I'll need like conversion shafts, Hockly Machined Knuckles and coolant and boost hoses.

One thing I did have to do was cut down the tread on the cv joint as it was too long.

and I've modified the gearbox mount and added a gusset to the conversion mount as they can be a bit weak.

Next jobs before I get the engine fitted is to mount the electric throttle pedal, just need to mount a bracket to the firewall.

Good work mate! I put an e throttle pedal in mine when I went z18xe, the astra g pedal was best candidate 9158010. I ended up welding studs to the fire wall, benefit of that pedal is it has a steel shaft so I shortened and bent it so it sat well with the other pedals. Also all e throttle pedals corsa c-d astra g-h will work for you. Astra g is most modify able though

Ive already got the pedal sorted, I actually did a lot of the work before it fitted the engine. I used a mk5 astra pedal and welded a bracket to the firewall, wasn't that hard.
Ive done all the wiring as well.
All I have left to do is the intercooler and pipes and move the rad over a bit to make room for the intercooler.
