Take it to a local* computer shop to get it cleaned out, also go into the advanced sound properties and drop the 'internal subwoofer' volume down to about 30%, it should stop the crackling if its an Aspire 59XX/69XX/89XX model.Originally Posted by mrs_kiwinova

Physically opening it to clean the heatsink fins. On some you can use a blowvac to blow the dust out by blowing through it in reverse, but i prefer to open them up to make sure its done properly.Originally Posted by John H
