Newbie help: Speedo signal from F28 Gearbox

Hi there, Newbie looking for help.

I've recently got my hands on a 1992 Nova with an F28 gearbox. The problem is the speedo does not work, I assume as a result of the conversion.

What options do I have to get my speedo working? I've read about fitting ABS rear drums and somehow converting that signal into something my speedo can read?

There are two types of F28, one has the mechanical speedo drive on the diff and speedo drive drive pick up hole, if you are lucky enough to have this box you need to remove the differential and replace the blue plastic speedo drive rind and replace with a black one from an F20 or similar big flange drive box

the other box is the electrical box that has no speedo drive and no speedo ring on the diff however I’m not sure if these can have a speedo drive fitted to them.

the easiest option is a GPS speedo in the short term
till you figure out what way your going

Yeah, I've got a GPS speedo for now but would like to get the dash working - even if I needed to upgrade/change the clocks.

I've found a GPS to mechanical cable convertor https://speedhut.com/accessories/sen...eed-converter/

It's expensive but i think it might work?

I'm skeptical that would work with the Nova clocks.

If you're not looking to keep original clocks, most 'competition' style ones come with a magnetic wheel speed sensor that is totally customisable. I have a Stack one pointing at an ABS ring and dialed in so it's mph-perfect based on wheel diameter and tooth count.

Have you considered alternative competition-style clocks with a magnetic wheel speed sensor for a more customized solution, or do you prefer to explore the GPS to mechanical cable converter option for your Nova's speedometer issue?
