And it?s back out again, oil leaking from the crank seal and end cap :-/
I suppose the good thing is that this is the engine I?ll be using in the nova so it gets all the problems sorted out now

Changed a fair few of them myself!!!
Always used the genuine ford sealant in the end cap and a smear on the sump gasket, not had one leak yet, but they'll just find somwhere else to leak, it is an old xe after all
All Vauxhall's leak mate!!
Engine back in the Astra, the ally sump was cracked and warped to bought a new steel one, 8v baffle plate and 15mm long bolts
The block was split and needed a repair so that was done, all back in now and no oil leaks thankfully

Nice to see your still active on the forums Allan I'll be honest this is the first time I've had a proper look on here for a good while. I'll try to visit more often as reading through a projects thread is much better than Facebook posts, I didn't realise you'd had such a ball ache with the engines I knew you repaired the cracked block but didnt know you had the engines in then out then in and out again , I hope you get the astra out and have some enjoyment from it soon.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and proclaiming, “DAMN, what a ride!!”
