That's looking excellent, great work.

thousands of Nova (plus other Vauxhall and motorsport parts) available.
Slap a Nova plate on it and just MOT it.
Update time.
Been steadily gathering parts and figuring out the steering column the past few months. I am running the S14 (200sx) steering rack and the input spline is a strange count on both sides of the UJ connection, so I was always going to need the lower part of the S14 column for simple ease. It is whether I use the whole S14 column, the nova column (with lower S14 part welded on) so I can retain keys, stalks etc, or simply make my own touring car style. So I set to work!
S14 and Nova columns side by side...
I chopped the end off I needed from the S14 column and it turned out the splined end was actually pressed into a splined sleeve. Thankfully I cut it right where the splined part ends! Lol (the part is pictured machined down here, more on that later).
Inspired by House?s set up, I got in touch with Ben @ Hangar 30 who supplied me with a bracket that comes off the cage to hold a bearing carrier and bearing for top end of the column.
The bearing ID is 3/4 inch. He advised me to use some 3/4 inch cds for the column with a nice thick wall c5mm. This was proving tricky to source, let alone in a small length, so opted for a piece of solid 3/4 inch bright steel bar. It?ll be a touch heavier than the cds but in all honesty, weight saving on this build has not been a huge priority, just a consideration.

So I now needed to attach the 3/4 inch column to the lifeline weld on boss (20mm od) top end, and the S14 piece rack end, and with a UJ and bulkhead bearing in between.
So I had the boss and S14 piece machined down to 3/4 inch, sourced a 3/4 inch uj, and I found a sierra bulkhead bearing that takes a 25mm od shaft. It then required a series of 25mm od 3/4 inch id machined sleeves, collars to bring it all together which will eventually get welded into place...
Interestingly, it worked out about the same length as the S14 column! Albeit the bulkhead fitment on my set up is closer to the rack (slightly).
And here it is all together...
And here?s how it all comes together in the car. The final version of the bulkhead bearing bracket will be changing slightly but same position and angle.
I?m now waiting on some grub screws to arrive. I will drill and tap all the sleeves so I can nip everything up in final position to check all moves ok before getting it tig?d.

Lovely work. The bracket Ben provided looks proper, will look badass in a dashless car.
