There are interesting updates. Coming soon.
Here's the start of the winter mods.... I have bought a donor car, you may recognise it.
It came as a full working car, and unfortunately got butchered:
So I'm having a tonne of parts off this to upgrade mine.... First off, the windows are pretty nice being Marguard coated and newer than mine, so in they go. Rears;
On to the fronts. I'm set with polycarbs now so instead of modding the seals I've removed the old window net brackets. They're not perfect but they're off:
The clasp was also removed:
Door stripped of all old parts, they're one piece so no separator etc required:
Skin supports have to go to make room too:
All in with new seals to suit the new one piece set up:
Another cheeky one robbed from the red car, a Lifeline snap off splined boss.
Will update as I get round to the other bits, but the upgrades should make my car better all over. Some bits I don't need will be for sale.
Looking well. What you not using off the shell?
Main bits surplus are instruments, pedal box, fuel setup (alloy tank, pumps, swirl pot), Corsa 2.7 rack. Not a huge amount!
Poor old girl!!
Little dash display upgrade for the old girl. I'll keep it brief with photos, but it's a piece of bent ally screwed to the stalk mount on the column with the dash mounted on.
Finished item:
Binnacle is blanked off with alloy wrapped in carbon vinyl, 14mm warning lights to keep it MOT legal and 4 buttons to control the dash.
Warning lights in action:
In order to protect the new pressure sensor I've got for it, it's remote mounted on a 0.5m braided hose, will be mounted on the bulkhead somewhere. I have fitted this to the current engine to make sure I have a reliable oil pressure gauge for when the new lump goes in:
All working, temp sensors not connected up yet:
Temp sensors and speedo mount will be done when the engine's out.
I have no words.
If that dash could talk it would tell some stories !
