Fab work's looking 1st rate; are you considering plating the various weak spots / reinforcing rear beam bolt holes & lower arm bolt holes? Could be an ideal time.
Standard inner rear arches IMO should be binned entirely.

I don't know the guy or what's been instructed or commissioned; does he do tarmac cars / FF hatchbacks ordinarily & which bits your putting on it?
I’ve heard he’ll do anything for the right price.
Anything at all.
I’ve basically told him to go to town on it, do everything he feels will benefit it. He’s built a number of fast novas, I just pay him some money every couple of weeks and he sends me a load of gangster pictures.
I know the following is on the list
Front cross member replaced, with direct to cross member tie bars
Full HH cage with a lot of additional little touches
Custom steering column and mountings
Quaife DTT shifter (leaving an option for the sequential at the moment)
Full HH playing kit to go on
Custom made “solid” engine mounts (rubber bushed but very stiff) including 4th mount to cross member
Chassis leg mod for dry sump
Sub frame bracing, to tie the cross member to the suspension pivot points
Custom fuel tank with in tank pump and swirl pot
Nice bit of stitching, my grandma would have love this fine work.
Still enjoying your project after all this time![]()
Thanks mate!! Hoping to get a unit this year, I’ve got some contracting to do in America but that should secure some money for unit rental!! It’s £1000 a month round my way!! But the new accountant says I can swing it!!!
Need to get the old shell out on track!! Unfortunately foster kids have arrived and thrown a spanner in the works!!!![]()
Here you go you benders.
So, last of the underseal came off today, it’s gonna back on some wheels tomorrow then the cage starts
Should see 2 weeks of solid progress now, cage, seat mounts and steering column
