My grandma was supposed to leave for Italy on Saturday and would have been staying away until the Saturday after. I had planned a weekend accordingly with my ex who would have been spending the night (and the obvious ensues of course) but today I was told that the flight date was moved from Saturday to the following Monday, meaning my weekend has been automatically cancelled.

Leaving Swansea at 4am to catch the 12:30 ferry in Dover. This is about 5 hours worth of driving so ETA is around 9 am. Got stuck on the M4 (massive accident between jct 10 and 11 hence motorway closed) which cost me 5 hours. Arrive 2 hours late at the gate. "that'll be €95 for a new ticket then sir". Me explaining the situation about the M4 gridlock did sod all. Got home in the end though.

This is the second time I've visited the UK this year and the second time I've been several hours too late for my crossing, despite taking delays into consideration. ARSE.
