Get it booked.
Nothing major, took the dog for a drive!!
He didn't like it!!
Cos I got bored of waiting for hi-spec, took my discs with me to the Phirm and while they were sorting the clutch on the Passat which was completely fubar, both plates on the centre had moved round on the rivets and were loose!! Paul said he couldn't believe it hadn't ripped itself apart!! Alll good now!!
Got the lathe on the go and made some mods to my spare discs
Should help them clear the knuckles and caliper mounts!! They're almost brand new so now they're spares.
Bled my brakes again and rotated the pads to help even out the wear.
Need to cool the brakes somehow so I'm looking into some proper ducting!! At Bedford once I was back at the pits discs (on the laser temp sensor) were 330 degrees c plus and calipers 280, so RBF has a dry boiling point of 312 degrees c, I'm thinking that if my discs were that hot after a cool down half lap they must be nearly 400 degreees in use. Ergo we need some brake cooling.
Lucky the spigot ring didn't come out....
All I wanted was a Pepsi, just one PepsiFar from suicidalStill I get them tendenciesBringing back them memories
That I really miss when I reminisce
That's one unimpressed lab![]()
Dear Mr House...posted you and Iain a question on my thread. Possible day off on the 2nd Sept to do either Rockingham or Mallory? If you are doing Mallory would you mind if I joined you...would be my projects first outing...
