Here you go Benn, just ordered this bad boy!!

Ordered a fuel gauge too, just need to drill it into my tank!!

It's got a little speed sensor for the digital speedo and all the tell tale lights needed, this will go in place of the original clocks on a custom aluminum sheet, with my gauges that were in my radio slot aswell as some pretty cool little dash lights i've got.

    Ah cool. Nice and compact.

I'd love to do management that can do a signal you can run thru a tablet. So you can have it custom set up with gauges on the screen. Only seen it done once and it looked awesome.

Bay and interior blasting planned for 2 weeks time, thanks to Iain for the lending of some welded standard suspension and a standard rack to move it around.

The guys are going to blast the bay and interior and blow a mist coat of primer over it to allow me to do some welding and playing around, then I can get it into paint.

I'm so busy with work it's gonna be mid March before it's into paint I think.

Dunno when the first trackday is planned but Iain is ruining things in his car too at the minute so no rush!!!

It's been a while, a few things have happened, the best weather of the year so far had me outside at 8am.

Attacked the rest of the engine bay with some wire wheels to get the hammerite off.

As is unsurprising I found some rotty mcrottison where the vertical bolts hold the tie bars on.

Cut out and plated, Iain tells me he did this and it split apart again so I'll be keeping an eye on it in the future.

Had to do the other side aswell

    Then the real fun started

    Bit of etch primer

The finish isn't great but it's a track car and I've run out of time to get it blasted and sprayed so it'll have to do for this year.

Re-fitting the hubs tomorrow, hopefully get the pedal box in and fixed and also the new heel plate and I'm going to try and get some brake lines in tomorrow if I can. Would like to have the engine back in over the next few weekends, ordered my new wiring module from CBS will make re-wiring the car again a lot easier!!

So with my wife away last night I had a few beers then got bored so was back out in the garage at 9 last night, carried out a few less noisey jobs!!

Removable slam panel installed, not really sure why i've got this other than the fact I cut the old one out!!!!! So kind of had to!!

Threw the bumper, grill headlights back in, used some riv-nuts to hold the headlights and grill in which looks loads better than the old self tappers.

That was it for last night at 10.30, I retired to bed to watch Hot Fuzz.

This morning at 7,45 I started again.

First job, get rid of this.

The holes for the bonnet pins, really annoyed me, I drilled the first ones but they moved when the bonnet was changed, the pins never settled properly and use to move around.

I intended to weld a plate on and tap with M10 for the pins and a lock nut, however, whatever thread these are they are not M10, required a quick re-think, not the prettiest but it's a track car!!!!!

Captivated the nuts then welded the plates to the slam, looks dog shit but it's strong and zero flex in the pins now, which I'm happy about!!!

Then I refitted the front hubs, they look crap but I can get them powder coated at some point, with those fitted I was able to start the new front brake lines,
actually quite enjoyed making the lines up!!

Reasonably happy with them, the other side runs the same, the pipe doesn't touch any body work at any point.

Then I moved the drives seat back and bolted the pedal box in to allow me to form the internal lines, but it started raining so washed the car quickly and packed up.

Then this evening after dinner I made a start on the dash and carried on with the switch panel.

Pretty happy with that, got a red light going in beside the oil pressure gauge for low oil pressure, adding a green light below the water temp for the shift light. The switch panel is coming on well, I've got a strip of warning lights going in above the switches on the line where the blue arrow is, indicators, handbrake, full beam and battery indicator.

    Ordered this

    http://www.carbuildersolutions.com/u...-wiring-module

It's a pre wired module to replace all the elctrics, reckon it'll make wiring a load easier!!

As for the stereo hole, thinking of adding a fuel pressure, fuel level and voltage but not completely decided on those yet.

    That's it for now.
