Just a few of the work in progress - some of the tricky bits around the o/s chassis leg:

Drive shafts done (well almost - annoyingly one of the gaiter clips was different to the rest and didn't clamp up as well so will get that replaced). Otherwise, fairly pleased with them for a DIY refurb so they get a bigger picture:
Only a little bit of progress over the last week and no pictures I am afraid. A bit more welding done (a repair in the floor) and some cutting back and shaping of repair panels. Thankfully, found some good metal around one of the worst bits where the o/s rear quarter meets the sill and was hidden behind the fuel filler neck. There is a hope and chance that we won't need to put on full sills or outer quarters as well as now we can see inside the sill, its just localised holes on the outer section.
Also got the original loom laid out alongside a good donor one and again we may be lucky in what we need to do. The original loom had been hacked in to in places for various needs and mainly with scotchlocks but the donor loom is pretty much like new and fully in tact.
Got the carbs and inlet manifold out and got a couple of options for their refurb - the alternator stud has broken off in the manifold so that needs sorting as well.
Finally, started to get bits sorted for plating including managing to split the servo so it can be done properly. Will post some picture updates after the weekend...

Remember the sills? They were both like this at the front, just some minor holes in the main section and pretty crap where poor rear quarter repairs met.

Also ordered a new fuel pump, plugs / HT leads and a new horn! I am still finding lots of little niggly bits that are missing due to a lot of stuff being stripped and hacked about during the cars motorsport days.

The mood is always lifted by the arrival of some more new (and shiny) bits:
Which then remind me that these bad boys need a refurb. Packing them up and sending them away to be properly done as they had been altered to have a motorsport linkage added:
So, the carbs (along with inlet and a few other bits) are off "up norf" for a bit of an overhaul and tidy up by Mr LV. I had asked a few places locally about refurbs but then got an offer from someone who knows Sports and their carbs inside out. As they had been altered around a bit, I wanted to make sure they were returned to Sport state rather than just a general Weber service.

As somebody with no welding/fabricating/bodywork skills, I am indebted to my craftsman who is doing this for me. He is keen to save as much original metal and seams/joins as possible and I am amazed by the before > during > after results. I tip my cap to all those who have done this themselves though.
