    Default Air compressor

Hi all im finally getting an air compressor and need a bit of advice,

It will just be for general stuff but would like to spray some small things too...

Reading a how to on here a 50 litre will be fine, so specs wise will this do it?

    50 litres (obviously)
    7.3 CFM
    2.5 HP
    8 BAR
    115 PSI
    230 V

or spend double the money and go for:

    50 litres
    12.6 CFM
    3 HP
    8 bar
    115 PSI
    230 V

    Cheers guys

Go for the bottom one. I have a 7.3cfm compressor and it struggles to keep up when painting large panels.

Go for the bottom one, you'll probably end up dissapointed with the other one, a decent spray gun needs a surprisingly large amount of air pressure. Have a look at the CFM requirements of the air tools you might want to get a good idea.

Most of the low-average priced compressors available seem to be from the same source just badged up with different stickers. Have a look on ebay and the same one you'll find in machine mart etc can be had for near half the price.
