    Default Repairing chromed plastic?

The chrome surrounds on my rear lights are looking a bit tired, the chromed bits polish up ok but there's lots of imperfections and spots/chips in the finish

Not finished polishing that one up but you can see the imperfections easier there. I'd like to get it looking like new but - noob question - can you chrome plate plastic? Or are there any paints that would get a decent look? It's only the outer facing edge that needs chroming up, not the whole surround.

Yes you can chromeish them, it's more a painting finish. But i have no clue who does it...

Not sure I'd trust sending parts to Taiwan

Seens a few youtube videos with some techniques, people doing wheels etc with sprays but need to know what paint they're using as all the 'chrome' sprays I've seen are either too soft or too not-chrome
