I decided recently to have another go at this. Its sat in the unit looking sorry for itself and the Astra track car's getting far too much use, so got together some engine bits and took them down for machining. Sadly the crank is scrap, so may have to use a late one in it, but hey, what difference will it make.
Now also have a full set of rods to use in it, after it wrecked #4 last time around.
I'l just chip away at it and hope to use it sometime this year. Sadly it may not see the Quaife box again, as that's now on the Astra and i quite like it.
Hey Graig nice to see you are back on this one, looking forward to watching progress once again. Hope all goes well this time around.![]()
With it all out are you not tempted to knife edge the crank?
This was the first project thread I read when I joined PNG, hopefully see it working again soon!!
Glad to see you've got some enthusiasm back for the nova
It's 100% going back together, with the new engine being nearly finished. I Decided I didn't have the time, tools or confidence to do it myself so sent it somewhere reputable. Same engine spec as before, but as above will be minus the Quaife gearbox and gripper diff, just with a modified Daewoo box and a used Tran-x.
It's also never going to be a track car now, but will always look like one.
Thanks for reading, I forget about this thread.
Arrow rods mmmm![]()
One day I'll start a build thread. One day...
Good news.
whats the ETA on the finished engine?
So it will be a road car but in track look? Why did you have to bin the crank? Glad your carrying on with it.
