Yeah all my fuses are on a seperate fuse board under the glovebox as I've rewired the entire car so I'll just have to see what's drawing current and pull each fuse, easy enough.

I tried to get through the Dartford tunnel today but failed miserably, after managing 1.2 miles in 1 hour and 40 mins I decided I couldn't be bothered with work and promptly went home.

Then fired up the car and went for a trip to see Tim at the Phirm, it's a decent distance away and I normally get a bit of queuing on the way home so the perfect test ahead of my 250 miles trip to get sprayed.

I'm pleased to report everything worked perfectly, rad fans cool the car even with the bonnet shut, which was a worry, car doesn't stall anymore when idling for more than 2 mins, sump is still leaking but I'm bored of that now!!

Full steam ahead for a late night run to North Wales Thursday evening!!

So I promised if the fuel Guage worked I'd show you lot!!

Now, a lot of thought went into this!!!

So it's rather simple psyics!!! The fuel floats up the tube to the same level as whatever is in the tank, Robert's your fathers brother, fuel level.

All I need now is a piece of aluminium tube about 30mm long 5mm diameter sealed at both ends as a float to show the level easily!!

Quick look in the rear view mirror and hey presto fuel level!!!

    Gotta love basic psyics!!!!

Car safely delivered to Andy, just a Nova shaped hole in the garage now. Not sure what I'll do for the next 4 weeks, I'm not getting into Corrie that's for sure.

Got some progress pics through from Andy today, he's cracking on with it, talking no prisoners.

Tank removed all rust free and pretty solid under there, ready to be striped and undersealed.

    Old fuel filler filled!!!

    Aerial hole

Passenger door lock removed and fibreglass skim covering my sad attempt at welding bodywork

I know Benn will enjoy seeing this grill being painted properly!!

I have to say I'm really impressed with the work Andy has done so far. incredibly well priced and doing what looks to me to be a really good job.

Not Andy off here mate no, it's a guy called Andy Walton, I think he's "Dooter" on here.

For the amount of work involved, what he's charging me is ridiculously cheap really. Plus he's a really sound guy, no bullscheiße, just honesty!!!

Well as promised I'm reading your build thread and I'm on page 380 and I've decided to sell my piece of **** cos it will never compare to what you've done mate! I can't believe the effort you've gone to!! I've decided the only option is to sell my rust bucket and buy a kit car!!!

Hhaha my wife would not describe it as great, she absolutely hates it!!!

The problem with mine is I'm now caught in a middle ground where it was "rat" look and could look like a pile of masturbation, however now it's going to be painted it kind of means everything else has to be up to scratch. It's kind of shown me how far it still needs to go to be anywhere near respectable and also how crap it is now!!!
