Fly back on with ARPs, and since the whole reason of pulling the engine was to do the clutch after it popped at Oulton Park, on goes a new old stock GM clutch:

Now this annoyed me after painting my crossmember and bolting on the tiebars the 50mm 3mm wall box started to crush under the bolts. Not good. So 10mm ID 16mm OD tube was cut to length:
And holes on the underside opened up to 16mm:
And welded in the tubes:
The crush tubes are visible from the top, sitting flush with the top of the box to be clamped down by the bolt head:
