only way I can think of is to put a 4-5mm hole in it and use a stud extractor
Harden Steel ball bearing will be hard to drill and then screw anything into it, Stuart.
weld something to it?
It will need some dam good precision welding at only 8mm at its widest point.
I all so play with the idea of grinding it or trying to glue some thing to it and pull it out.
If the only reason you want it out is for fitting the distributor, just grind 5-6mm off the distributor drive pin as you dont need it now anyway.
I would prefer not to grind a part of my brand new motorsports dizzy
Why not? Stick it in the lathe and machine it tidy. The ball is only there for dispack engines anyway as the o-ring on the drive would normally block the cam. Chances are anyone who wants a motorsport distributor will have a plugged cam anyway. Its not like the drive cant be pressed off and replaced in the future...
Just not keen to mess with the new dizzy as it is under warranty
