Thanks for all the comments, well as I won't be doing any major things to it until around september, I thought id put up some pics of the underneath while it was over the pit.
Its had a new painted petrol tank fitted, the usual places in the boot that rust have been repaired, and the whole underside has been undersealed. Just needs a couple patches on the sills welded, one patch in the engine bay, and the front valence then it will be solid from what we can see.
Nice and clean tank
Looks good mate, clean examples are getting harder to find!
Nothing major, got given some genuine headlight covers today, so thought I may as well use em..
Also got some 90mm and 60mm springs, so will have a play with them at some point and see which height ill be going for!
A question as well, does my car need a cat to pass mot? Been getting different answers from different people.
Don't think it will because its J reg 1992.. just missed the cat year!
Screaming out for some 3 spoke centre caps.
Got a couple of centre caps today, wanted to see whether I liked the wheels more with them fitted. Quite like them, thinking of staying original and just lowering it a tad but we'll see!
wheels are looking a lot better with the centre caps, good project keep it up
Did a couple of little bits to it today;
Painted my drums black
Painted the calipers silver
The previous owners dad sprayed his garden fence next to the car so it had little brown dots all over the drivers side, took me about an hour to get them all off!
Then as it will be off the road for a few months now I put it on some steels, and also gave it a polish.
Vauxhall driveway
Thats all for now
Love this GSi Looking good mate. Much better with the caps fitted.
Not many about that are still that tidy underneath.
Finally some updates;
Been quite busy this week getting welding done, changing a few bits
Start the cringing, front panel had seen better days!
As we didn't have a replacement panel, we just repaired the original
Some welding
After it was all cleaned up and painted
As you can tell from the last pic we also removed the engine
Its home for a few days
Can't really see in this pic, but it was mainly removed to fix this crack/rust
Welded and cleaned
This patch was also welded but no after pic as of yet
While the anti-roll bar was off, thought I may aswell clean it up and paint it
