Wiper bits look smart, as does the roof. Must be smooth as a baby's bottom now yes? Can't give you +rep (need to spread first etc.) so have someinstead!

Since the last up date it's all be trying to fix the running issue. Head scratcher isn't even the word, nothing seems to have worked ok it....
Everything has been tested, check, buzzed out for continuity and grounds, new sensors where fitted, even took the turbo out of the mix...
Parts swapped from Dan's GTE to mine... All with no affect or help.
I finally hung my head and gave up on taking the car to billing. A very hard choice. Spent the weekend saying to people "no sadly the car didn't make it.. Yes i've tried that x11"
Back home... Still no clue.
But when i had been under the car i noticed the power cable from the alt to started had got very hot when the alt seized (burning the ground loom out)
So i set about removing it and fixing it.
Oh, that's crispy...
Eek.
While at Billing i saw this nice crimping tool, saw it at PVS and didn't buy it. But this time i saw the need as it can do battery/power cables...
Went though my box of cables/wire/wiring looms and found a nice bit of power cable from a Calibra. Chopped it out, cut a a lil longer than the Nova bit. Found my battery crimps...
Used the new tool, added a lil solider just to make sure the joins where good, heat shrunk..
Sorted.
Also had to spilt my alt, turn the casing as it was 90deg out of faze and if pushed to far it could spark to the inlet. Doing that means removing it. Out and in in 20mins.. But refitting i need a extra pair of hands...
Bungy strap held the alt up while i refitted the bracket...
All refitted, checked, nothing was hot, making 14v. All good.
Well still running ****e. So more messing about, while messing about trying to make it run right, the AFM was unplugged. All of a sudden the car started to run right.
So remove the AFM check its voltages again my spare.. All the same. Refit and try again... Car runs ****e. Unplug runs better. Could it be both my AFMs are dead?
Found one, buy it. Turns up and i try it...... Still the same! This was Thursday.
At my wits end now. Don't understand, what could it be.....
Sunday just gone there was a show at Beaulieu. Wanted to go, thought if needs be i'll drive with the AFM unplugged.
Start the car in the morning... Unplug the AFM and the cars dies.. Plug it back in and drive to meet Dan and Sharon... Car runs great. Drive to the show and it drives great.. Boosts nicely. Smooth and jerk free.
So it turns out... Well who knows. Maybe the ECU just needed a bit of time to see the afm was working ok.
At the show... A few pics...
AFM and filter less engine bay... Looking a bit more even and empty.

Glad you seem to of somehow sorted it bud. As I was reading I was wondering if it was the afm wiring itself seeing as you may of moved it???
Cars looking stella as always!
Wiring all seems ok. Guess the ecu just need time to pick up the changes...
Thank you too![]()
