cheers fella.... You'd have been better off going for B 16V TB as baz's 16v turbo etc as It's available. I would have ideally liked J16VTB but It wasn't available sadly.

Car is looking great! I'll pop my fat nose against the window once we're at Billing.
Thankyou! At first the sleep deprivation was rather hard but we seem to have got him into a routine which he keeps to most of the time which is good. In all fairness he's doing really well and Is rather chilled out which is cool. Be sure to pop over and say hello!

So following on from the other day then........... A little bit backwards but see If you can follow!

The only thing that wasnt in order when I bought the car was the fact it was still registered as a 1.4 and I have been stopped in the past so wanted the car to be all above board. Whilst the car was in at work for the mot my boss had a look round it and noted the engine number so he could write me a short letter to the dvla and I could have the tax class/engine number changed over. Whilst the necessarys were away I thought it was a good idea to get cracking with a few bits.....

Now I did intend on refurbing the RL7's on D20TBO in a matt bronze so had been slowly researching my options and shortlisted two colours and tinted until I was happy. Two sprayout cards were painted and matt cleared then I took them home to see what they looked like against the breeze blue solid colour......

A lot of head scratching followed and I sent a few texts out to see what a few of you thought.... Opinions varied and in the end I left it down to Ethan with a little help from Jess who picked this one....

I was still rather sceptical however decided to go with it! Wheels/tyres off and prepared ready for paint...........

Id also recieved a set of mirrors from Scott (cheers) and intended to chop them up but for now decided against It. The stock mirrors I got with the car had a few marks but I didnt want to paint these just in case the colour differed too much. So I thought paint the spare covers then at least If they were off colour I could still use the ones painted with the shell. These were primed then flatted ready for paint......

Ive also always liked the promotasport c20let heat shield and had Iain on here replicate one for me sometime ago. Thanks again for this! I decided against polishing It as I didnt want too much shiny shiny so got it prepared for paint also....

Mirrors and heat shield based up....

Wheel Jig makes life very easy to do inside & out at the same time yay!......

Then onto the clearcoat....... this particular clear actually goes on shiny like normal clear but a chemical reaction during the bake cycle later changes it to Matt. This actually makes life easier for application......

    Mirrors & heatshield cleared.....

    New decals turned up.....

I then left the wheels a week to go nice and hard before taking them for the tyres refitting.....

At this point Id re fitted the centres but thought the gloss black caps looked out of place on matt finish wheels so got them ready for paint....

    Much better......

Wheels were then lined up in exactly the same position for decal fitment....

All decal'd up ready for refitting....

This had also caught my eye and needed a makeover......

    Much better.......

I also had this turn up..... I actually painted/polished this exact cover about 4 years ago for a member on here who never used It. I asked to buy It back as the hours they take I just didnt have and I knew It'd give the engine bay the splash of colour it needed.......

I added the above then got back on with the detailing session from the last update. After all the wet flatting/compounding used to remove the scratches you tend to be left with swirls no matter how hard you try. Even keeping a clean damp mop head on gentle speed I could see a few light swirls in bright sunlight and when using the daylight torch. So I went round the car again with a fine compound followed by an anti hologram finishing glaze & waffle head which worked well and left me with no swirly swirly... Happy days! The day after I finished the job with a coat of poorboys black hole and dodo wax to leave it looking spiffing!...

By the time Id done all that the dvla had been kind enough to return my updated logbook and new tax disc. However Id since found the new reg so sent It straight back to them! Thats 3 times in a couple of months theyve had the logbook so bet Im popular at swansea . Anyhow Ive recently got It back all sorted so fitted new plates leaving It like this.....

Ive since noticed I have a wheel thats losing a little air so looks like I'll have to take that to be sorted. I have been out and covered some miles hoping It would seal itself but no joy. So a clean up followed by some bead sealer should sort It hopefully. Other than that Im halfway through polishing the dizzy and head bracket which will conclude my jobs for this year. Hope youve enjoyed the read!

    Nick.

Awesome dude, looks amazing, glad the mirrors are of some use.
Did you treat the bumpers? As they look darker, that's why i thought they had been painted.
Police might not bother, but mot man won't like the plates they hated J 20 XE
