    Lowered yes.
    Steels cool.
Opel badge not so much for me...

    Far from suicidal
    Still I get them tendencies
    Bringing back them memories

Agree with Benn re: the Opel badge, keep it Vauxhall.

Cracking motor you've bought and I'm very envious, with all the decent parts you've got Rich it's bound to get even better

    Thanks guys .

As the weather was good today I decided I would spend a bit of time on the SR.
The dizzy had been rattling so I swapped it for another good used one I had. I then set the timing and found it had been way out, it now drives much nicer .

I have also replaced the drivers door handle with the correct modified black handle for the later doors. I had a job getting the old one out as it did not fit correctly.
I Waxoyled the door cavity whilst the door car was off to protect the new door.

Also swapped the parcel shelf & side supports as the original was faded and had speakers fitted.

Just a few more little jobs to do so hopefully I can take it to PVS next weekend.

Sorry, this is the only pic I got as I was busy and my phone battery went flat.

    Nice picture...

    Engine bay looks very clean..

Did changing the distributor remove the rattle?

Slack timing belts often cause the distributors to rattle on these engines.....

Not really . Correcting the timing seemed to improve it slightly but it is still there. I will check the cambelt tension, I think it was replaced along with the water pump by the last owner. What is the best way to get the correct tension?
I could not find any play in either dizzy so you may be right.
