Gotta say I love the old escort's even though I'm a vauxhall man through and through but it was nice to see the mexico and it sounded awesome, my uncle has a white mexico rep with a played with 2ltr pinto on 45s with a locked rear diff its a weapon to drive in the damp or loose conditions

Not really, not everyone thinks that mk1/2 escorts are the best thing ever

Good show, but just not enough showing the actual Escort build, it was all about the history and current owner clubs!

Was just about to add that point, my only real negative about it. Showed a bit of front end welding, the roof swap then being sprayed, then the engine being lowered in

This, although I suppose they only had an hour to fill and it was a 'prime time' thing. I guess BBC demographics probably have viewers at that time just wanting to see someone they recognise trolling about driving cars as opposed to some young unknown guy cutting out rust and actually building a car.

Would have been interesting if they'd made more of a series out of it rather than one-show-per-car. But then you'd be watching Mark Evans' doing A Car Is Born and IF the BBC were to show that it would be on BBC4 at 3am

...Incidentally, universal LOL's at work this morning at the poverty spec faded-red Mk4 Escort in the car park at work, proudly sporting wonky Mk1 Mexico badges.
