Default Distributor help please. 1.4 se engine wont accept 1.4 sr distributor.

as title, im sure this has been asked before but I have had a 1.4se engine built and I thought it would be ok to fit my distributor from my old 1.4nv engine. it doesn't fit properly and im told there are two different types of distributor? can anyone shed some light on this and even provide pictures? getting very frustrated as im trying to build a race car for this sunday. cheers

There is a pin driven dizzy and a slot drive one.

YOu will need to look at your dizzy and your cam to see which it is.

You will need to get the correct dizzy or a change of cam.

is this likely to be the camshaft with a ball bearing in the hole where the peg drive should go????

the 14se was dispak, wasn't it, so have a butchers at the cam end

I just can't remember how to get it out though, sorry

Some c14se had pin drive dizzys. They werent all coikpack. If you are using the se cam then the 1.4 dizzy should fit.
