Last year I posted up the pictures of the standard 1 owner GTE that I followed. After approaching the driver and having a lengthy chat I left my details and crossed my fingers.
Since then I sort of wondered if he had just nodded politely, but on Friday I was in the area and saw it parked on a driveway. Parked up and had a nose to see if it was taxed, then knocked the door.
Ended up in the house with the pair of pensioners chatting again, really nice people. The old boy went to the cupboard and pulled out the V5 with my details paper-clipped to it, and said that this summer he has to take another test which he's not going to bother with, so hopefully it will be mine soon.
Apparently people approach him daily, weather it be Oval racers, Scrap merchants or Enthusiasts, but he only ever kept my details, which was good to hear.
The Hella grill is gone, he has re-fitted the original due to persistent blown bulbs, and he has clipped the mirror, but other than that its still straight and tidy.

he phoned me up about 8 months after originally talking to him. I was at his house for a good 3 hours at least finding old MOT's and other paperwork from all over his house on bookshelves and drawers etc. top guy.
