You should be able to get the loom out without removing the column? I have removed a 1.0 and a 1.2i loom complete, the 1.2i should be a similar idea?

Door removal......fun. Did you buy an extractor set? The draper ones I used did two sets of doors and never snapped but just got worn.

If you can't get the pins out with the tool then I'd heat them with gas bottles and try again as once theyve seen heat it should be easier. Failing that drill them out! To get the doors off my first car (nova gte) we had to cut big holes in the doors and then drill the pins out. Not a favourite method but it was having new doors like yours will be so not to worry.

    Nick.

I am sure you'll be able to knock the split one out with patience, feel free to borrow the pin kit which I think I still have, as Nick said, some heat will make a difference, once you get the first bit of movement you'll be fine.

I won't be able to take the loom out in 1 piece as its wrapped around the rack, and yeah I bought the laser one the pins are just cheap steel so I've made a better one to do the job. Nick I've got a we blowtorch at my lockup so I'll attack te hinges with that next time I'm over. Cheers

Rack or column? Loom is only 1 bit at the fuse box end, so just unplug the rest and it will come out...

Never seen it over the top of the column like that, I'd unbolt it too, and even snapping the bolt with a spanner will free it off, the one in the pic doesn't look done up anyway...
