i'm sorry, i'm not familiar with the concept of too many cookies..

Lost clutch action so once started I can't select any gears but when gears selected then started is goes in that gear so 2nd gear until I reached a hill switched off select 3rd roll down hill and start and 3rd gear home

you start off in third, rev it slowly to about 2000, let off the throttle and pull it out of gear, then into 2nd. it will go in. then repeat up to a decent gear. on the way down, you let off the throttle, pull it out of gear, blip the throttle to put about 500 extra revs on & slide it intothe next gear down..

its how people used to do it before synchros came along.

of course, traffic lights & reversing still cause a problem
