It has to be finished no matter what, so yes

Anyway, just a quick one to tease...

Here's the pictures I took today. I'm going up tomorrow to get the glass back in and window surrounds, bumpers, boot, wings on etc.

Unfortunately they ran out of paint so couldn't do the spoiler, grill, wing mirrors etc so once the paint has arrived these bits will be done.

I have also packed my Waxoyl in the car ready to do the inside of the wings and doors, front panel etc etc.

The car will also be polished tomorrow to get the minor blemishes out and get it looking like a mirror finish!

Also, who can spot the minor change/differennce that I haven't showed before. (Hint = it's to do with something that's not a part of the car itself but something that bolts to it.)

Side repeaters removed? How do you go on with the mot with it?

It looks great freshly painted. I hope the guy doing mine at the moment does it exactly like this rather than spray all the bits while still attached to the car!

Yes the side repeaters have been removed and its all about who you know!

Regards the paint, I asked to have the bits removed and removed them myself. It really depends if they can be bothered to unbolt everything as its just easier to mask a couple of bits up!

I got my indicators smoothed off on my old track car, you legally can with a mk2 as the front indicators come round the side of the wings, but only easy model mk1's that had none from factory are ok, otherwise it's an mot fail.
Did you do it royal mail red again or something else

As they say its not what you know but who you know!!

And nope, Royal Mail red has been given the boot in favour of Vauxhall Flame red!

I will update in a bit with pictures of today's progress.

    Cheers mate.

Well got a fair bit done today. Got all of the glass fitted as well as the boot, wings and bumpers. I did try and fit my window surrounds but soon found out that they don't fit as they are well and truely bent and out of shape! So now I'm looking for a another pair that actually fit!

I had to get the car watertight so just refitted the rear windows. Once I find some then I'll just remove the windows and fit them again.

Once the car was outside you really could see the difference in colour! The previous red was very dark and dull and now it's very bright and very shiny! You can see the difference between the wings and front panel which hasn't been painted.

The car still hasn't been mopped yet so the finish is an 'out of the gun' finish. I can't wait till it's mopped as it'll look even shinier!

The fit on the wings isn't perfect but that's what you get for using pattern wings!

Whilst the car was jacked up at the front I noticed the back dropped a little. The height at which it was, is the height that I'm looking to go for. I decided to get a picture as I think it looks perfect!

Today, i'll be fitting the front and rear coilovers and a few other bits.
