andy, if you don't already grow it, plant some sweetcorn... very few food stuffs compare to that cut straight off the plant, cleaned & thrown into boiling water for about 5 mins.. followed by putting a little butter on it & eating it.... you'll be cross eyed with pleasure
I have run out of room
Got potatoes, broccoli, onions, shallots, leeks, swede in at the minute.
Bought 2 tomato plants that are on the window cill til i make a tiny greenhouse, also got some carrotts but christ knows where they will go.
Also, theres already strawberrys, raspberrys grow in the patch.
Iv got loads left over aswell that i will have to find a home for somewhere.
andy, plant the corn between the tater ridges, you'll not regret it
I was looking at them today aswell as it was 5 trays for a tenner.
Might have to go back then.
How big do they get? Would i get away with using one of them flexy rubber type plastering buckets?? Got one spare that i used at my old house last year.
Bucket should be ok but they can grow to 5/6 foot tall
they go to about 4'6" & need a cane. the stuff you see in the field in england is not edible for humans & grows way taller... i once tried to convince a gang of brickies that they really shouldn't bother nicking a load from the adjacent field as it would be like bullets & taste shyte... but as is common knowledge, brickies always know better![]()

I may have to have a think then
