Each to their own mate, but i personally don't see much point in them bikes in the UK, ok if you live in the Alps for example, ski lift to the top etc but here your going to spend 90%of the time pushing it to the top, no fun imo

the uk is littered with downhill tracks that run an uplift service. and you'll find that most of us serious downhillers own a large van/pickup so when riding with a few mates everyone chucks in some fuel and takes it in turns to drive the uplift road! theres no greater buzz than downhill riding.

I ride DH and XC, i promise you that a days downhilling is far more exerting that XC. And in race conditions a 3 minute track will make you feel like your lungs want to fall out, i dont get that from 3 hours of XC.
