After Blyton all those months ago I thought now was the time to sort out the problems I had encountered.

First up, spotted this! So need a new one as it has started fraying!

Next was the problem with the rear brakes. They were basically getting seriously hot and sticking on until they had cooled. One hot drum!

So whipped the drums off and here's what was left of the shoes!

Not sure what to think at the moment other than I need new shoes! I'm not sure if it's doing it because:

    a) Too much rear bias, athough pedal box was at least 85% to front
Possible Solution: Fit an inline bias

    b) The adjuster is adjusting up everytime I'm braking hard and forcing the shoes to constantly sit against the drum
Possible Solution: Remove the adjuster lever and adjust manually every so often.

    c) Having no handbrake cable is affecting adjustment?
Don't know whether this matters or not. The handbrake swing arm has been welded up so it doesn't interfere with the working of the drum as no cable attached.

So if anyone has any ideas on this I'd welcome suggestions!

My alternator belt turned itself inside out too and ran on the outside of the bottom pulley. I slackened the tension off and it's been fine since. We can get you a belt from Halfords if you want, they're about £2!

Does the alt not touch the leg too? Looks like its mm off... I thought the hand brake cable did hold the shoes in a bit (as it's an **** to fit) but i might be wrong.

Alternator pic is a bit of an illusion! there's masses of space between the pulley and chassis leg as it's been cut out and boxed in.

As said, rear brakes is a strange one as I've never heard of anyone having problems like this before!?

Shift light will be fine spliced into the single rpm wire. My ECU rpm feed has shift light+LCD tacho+AutoMeter tacho+EPAS all off the one feed and no problems.

Been collecting a couple of bits to get it running again and also to improve things.

4.5psi max Facet silver top pump and a nice stack oil pressure gauge. Also dropped my dash off to Prey at flockingfantastic.co.uk to be flocked in black. Will look loads better once he has worked his magic!

Update time again, first off an out of blue phone call from a friend prompted me to do this... Remove my current front brake setup and swap for a Wilwood 4 pot setup. They are the 4 pot dynalite callipers with ally nova mounts and greenstuff pads (Although these will be changed), and 280mm drilled discs.

Lastly I got my dash back from Al at flockingfantastic.co.uk Looks really really good. Should make the inside look loads better.

Yes they will fit, the discs are actually 4mm smaller than my old setup!
