people not understanding the concept of the motorway lanes
how people older than stu were taught them......
slow lane, is so called because of the speed limited hgv's travelling down it & then using the middle lane to pass slower ones & pulling back in....
middle lane, meant to be an overtaking lane for the slow lane, but also home to 7.5 tonners, vans, caravans & buses, which can run faster than hgv's so they are constantly overtaking them
fast lane, used to overtake vehicles in the middle lane before pulling in.....
now, the more amazing rule that is long forgotten... if, as designed, people are using the motorway properly, then when there is a crash in the slow or middle lane, the hard shoulder & fast lane would be the lanes of diversion, so the motorway keeps moving........
in fact, the only bit of the motorway network that works correctly with busy traffic is the bit near luton with 50mph average speed cameras on it, so the bmw & audi drivers can't drive like tits between the cameras, like they do on the m25, causing all manner of hold ups.
