    Default identify my engine

    me and my mate thats doing this project and beginners in a nova c20xe conversion and would like to know abit more about the engine

    Looks like a dispak c20xe from a cavalier/calibra to me, but if you want an ID, hows Bob sound

    Looks like a late dispack to me, but the picture doesnt exactly give away alot!

    Def from a cav or cally going by the header tank, cant see the dis/dizzy, but its def a late engine as its got the later plastic 'dohc 16v' plug cover, the metal ones just say 'vauxhall' on them

    just noticed its still got the powersteering pump too, my bet says its from a chavalier! looks exactly the same as my "backup" engine that came from a cav

    It's from a calibra but that's dis/dizzy about also is this a good engine to start with for our nova thanks

    I prefer the late coilpack engines myself (same as the one in the pic), nothing wrong with dizzy engines but the late ones feel more refined somehow

    I would replace the pot type flywheel with a flat type though while its out

    the coilpack engines came with 9.6kg flywheel, early xe engines had 6.3kg flywheel so swap them around for better acceleration
