runs a lot smoother when the engine is cold and i think the torque has moved a bit to the lower revs. but thats just my feeling![]()
You don't have to mount the RJ's vertically on the front crossmember - the stress is at the other end of the bar:-
To the point where I don't like the look of that clevis - especially given you're on 205 width cut slicks with an LSD; I've bent something of a similar thickness on road tires & open diff from cornering. IF you do run them and you find the steering wheel goes out after hard braking / cornering then be aware you've bent one.
When thinking about welding them on, measure the distances VERY carefully as they're designed to allow some scope for greater castor - so the midpoint of adjustment should be similar to o.e length. Also they should be ideally welded on so at rest, they sit parallel with the ground.
A good build overall and I like the approach you have.
Had to get my car ready for the first "test race", therefor i decided to get my car in shape.
After two years the paintjob was a bit worn at the sides.

The day started unspectacular, first thing to do: find a parking spot.
and get the competition number
through the morning i took a lot of photos and supported a friend of mine while he was driving. So i had enough time to think about what it would be like to drive my own car.... and that made me nervous as f***

1. Training run
No traction, i had no idea how to handle the situation
It was very confusing, it felt like there was abolutely no grip on the front, i expected way
more than i was presented with.

No improvement. Was it the tires witch were new and had been barely driven?
Am I doing something wrong? Toe settings wrong? Many questions and no answer.

Really huge build, i recently built up my track car but mine is a very low spec and cost but, I sympathise with the having to make your own washers etc. I even had to improvise my own wiper mechanism (from a corsa B) to get through an MOT.
I am no expert on steering but I suspect it will be the camber and also without being patronising, as you have changed the track ends and so on, the tracking is probbaly miles out.
Keep going though, a massive and unusual build.
1. Timed run
I was disillusioned, I didn't know where the fault was, I didnt know how much time it took for me to drive the course, but it felt slow.
At least i could drive 3 times so maybe there's potential to improve.

I had made a massive mistake and would like to know what happened, but i had no video footage. At the end i thought i had figured it out how to drive and was way too fast for the last bend.

2. Timed run
I was getting faster, i realised i had to change my driving style. Let off the gas and the car was understeering immediately! So i had to keep my foot on the gas and driving was a lot easier.

Ok, it was obvious, the faul was: me
Now i knew what was possible with the car. The run was clean and fast, foot to the floor and i was flying, the track became bumpy as hell but the diff was working its magic and in the end i couldn't resist to yell a loud "yeeeeehaaaa"

The car always needs to be loaded to make use of it's tyres, so if you accelerate hard towards an apex, brake heavily at the latest point possible, let off a little to turn in... this holds all the weight onto the front end, it's like free downforce for your steering. As you found out acceleration gives a good pull through a bend so that's your next step, accelerate through the apex. The physics of that I've never understood because it should load up the rear and make you understeer like a pig but never does![]()
