Nice starter SLR Liam, I'm looking at taking an upgrade on mine. Learn all the basics and want one with a quicker shutter speed etc now, and a Canon after using someone's Canon 1D

Yep, good starter DSLR. I have a Canon 550D with a couple of Lens'. Awesome bit of kit, far cleverer than me.
As Jack says learn about shutter speeds, aperture and exposure and you'll be well away.
