this stuff gets changed when enough people get worked up & start moaning...

we had a local building scheme that the outgoing council passed, and public outcry was really low key, but absolutely everyone in our town was dead against the scheme, it did involve building flats all over our local play park, and there was enough muttering that it got dropped.

We have got loads of jobs coming in at work about potential riots at filling stations atm. One woman even rang in to say a member of staff at the garage she was queuing at appeared to have had some sort of breakdown and was crying in the shop. Lol!!

It is all complete madness. Problem is though..even if you have over half a tank or so left, your made to fill like you have to join the queue to fill up coz otherwise the stations are closing. The one at the bottom of my road has shut up shop.

Edit - although if they do decide to strike, the emergency services get allowances for fuel so ill never be able to skive off work.

i think its just been government instigating panic buying to top up there end of tax year revenue, so thanks to everyone that rushed to there local petrol station to help wipe off some of our countrys debt!

as there was no planned dates even released for a strike!

Yep. And also if everyone has a full tank +stored supplies then if the tanker drivers strike no one will give a funk as we'll have fuel and they wot have actually achieved anything..... Cunning plan from no10 IMHO.

the original govt advice was... we're trying to get this potential strike stopped, but if you want to be sure, fill some jerry cans up & put them in your garage....quite decent & legal advice...

till the fire brigade union went on all forms of media saying it was dangerous & stupid... so everyone with a petrol lawnmower, jetski, crosser & kiddy quad is stupid??

then their advice was, when you get to 1/2 tank, fill it up so you have enough fuel to cover any journeys you need to do... again, pretty good advice

lets just say that round where i live, nobody is panic buying fuel at all
