Well done Nova you survived a year on the road. Now SORN while I sort insurance/tax/MOT and a few niggles.

First up replaced the exhaust hangers with original rubber ones as I don't think a cable tied on exhaust will impress the MOT man. Also trying to stop my rear bushes creaking my removing, cleaning and greasing:

Nova Ian kindly made me up some one-off TOW stickers too to show off his new vinyl cutter, look pretty sweet. Think he's got a few left over he'd be willing to sell so if anyone wants one PM him!

Front susp is stripped too, going to strengthen the lower arms and perhaps replace the tie bar spherical bearings as they feel knackered.

Tow? Is that where you tow?

Is the brake light not right in your view line? Good thinking, but not a fan of it like that..

Corsa looks like it needs a good home...

Benn you're a clever cookie I need them cos it's a race car init bruv

Brake light doesn't get in the way of my rear view no, it can't be mounted any higher cos you wouldn't see it through the window. Tested it at night parked against the wall and it's proper bright so pretty happy with it.

I've plated my lower arms this morning, now drying in paint together with the new outer CVs so I can build my shafts up tomorrow.

Arms painted and built back up:

And finally got round to building my equal length shafts up with brand new outer CVs and Nova conversion short shafts:

All of the front suspension is stripped down, and I have been collecting parts for the Golf Synchro bearing knuckle mod.

I have ordered some rosejointed track rod ends from Compbrake, however I can't see how they're going to fit at all.

Parts I got vs standard TRE:

See the issue? The male RJ is going to bottom out on the steering rod like so:

You can see where the arm is clean where the old TRE was, there's no way they can be adjusted to give straight tracking.

On top of that, the only M12x1.5 threaded part is in the hex head of the female threaded tube, which is approx 12mm deep. Doesn't feel all that stable when threaded down the steering rod.

    Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Mike after the price of them and double checking with them before purchase the ONLY mod would be drilling the hub, I don't feel I should have to. I get the feeling the female threaded section would run out of thread too as it's quite long...
