Mark unless you have tested where your internal shifter is going? You might find you need to more out closer toward the bulk, almost upto the welded seam, as i had to on mine, as it was rubbing on the selector rod trying to engage 3rd and 5th.

Yep, but then you could stop it suppose by making sure you get the stick mounted far back/in the correct place for your hole allowance, Dar did mine, but as i say it rubbed,

I had to take a little bit more metal out of there aswell.
I used the corsa internal shifter and linkage as it is a direct fit, no shortening of the shaft required
I even got realy giddy and welded a washer in front of that hole/underneath for the shifter to slide in to remove any form of play
