Have you painted the black bits nick? Why not just tune the x16? or fit an x18xe1?

X18 is Vec or Corsa C 1.8 16v isnt it??

The x18xe1 is out of astrag/vectra b. Standard 115bhp out of the box but lots of tuning potential. yes it's small block and Yes you can keep the p/s and probably the a/c too. Alex w pointed me in the right direction of a good wip on corsasport, will see if i can find it.

problem is if i keep the 1.6, iv got to take the engine out to change that tensioner, so what ever happens, its got to come out

Im sure you can get to the tensioner by taking the drivers side wheel, hub assembly & strut off/out way :S
