Calypso Red GTE look alike with or without xe
Going to keep the description simple as i would rather serious interest was made via the phone as it saves miss interpritation and things are easyer explaned that way
I have for sale a mk1 1.2 in calypso red with full gte trim
Just had 12 months mot and 6 months tax
car has been stood sinse pvs in my workshop doing nothing with the 1.4 sat in it so i decided at the end of september to put it back on the road.
Failed its mot soley on the emisions so a tweek with the air screw on the carb and that sorted that!
As soon as it was tested (same day) the engine was pulled out bay seam welded and plated in usual areas weather it was need or not as sooner or later in life it would have wanted them any way. seam sealered repainted and a completly rebuilt low mialage xe was fitted.
engine had everything apart from rings as they were deemed un necesary as the engine was rebuilt 4 months before it was removed from the car it originated from but has sinse been sat for 6 years!
it had all seals gaskets oil pump shells new rod bolts valves relaped cam belt water pump ect ect and recipts and photos to prove
car drives very well and is very quick for a late xe as grey of here can confirm as he had a play in it saturday
shell is strong and straight although the paint work could do with a mop as it was never done after it was repainted
slight kink in drivers door at top of skin where some tit tryed breaking into it
Now the twist
i would rather sell this car as an xe ready shell with tax and test with everything except the engine
In this form everything will be present except the engine gearbox rad engine loom and shafts
everything else like the gsi tank pump big brakes ect will still be present basicly just add engine and off you go
in this form i am after £600 ono which when you think about it for another 300-400 quid on a cheap engine that would make a very cheap xe powered nova
The other way is complete car ready to drive away and for this im looking for offers around £1600 mark which again i feel is reasnable when you add up what it would cost to build the engine from top to bottom with all new and mainly genuine parts ect and what its cost me to put together and taking into acount i have seen peiople asking 2k pluss for rotten xe novas in my eyes its a steal
