Default so i left the country for a week & look what happens........

yup i went on the family's annual holiday.... and as we climbed off the ferry, found out about all the rioting... come on people, i'd been gone a couple of hours & the place went crazy......

all these idiots running round smashing the place up for what reason???? they wanted to steal some stuff.... i hope they like prisons....

on another note, one of the blokes at work wasn't impressed when i asked for £75 for his 200 fags.... well, i did only go to the isle of wight.....

and i did not see a nova or feel the need to take a pic of one & post it on a thread on here all the time i was there... is this a record?

pretty good, once you get used to the fact that to go anywhere, you must go thru newport..

sandown is a good bucket & spade beach, so is ventnor, but with a little wave action so some body boarding is possible.. compton bay is ace for watersports, but there is no lifeguard (or since the cliff eroded, not much carpark either LOL) avoid blackgang chine or the needles, unless you like spending tons of money Cowes puts the F in expensive... and there are loads of interesting places to go all along the route. we didn't manage everything we wanted to get done, so must go back....

as for camping, there are sites to suit all.. ones with the pool, bar, cabaret, kids club etc. ones that are just a field & a privy, and ones in between. the one we stayed at, was 1 mile from a 24hr tesco, it was about 15 acres, no clubhouse, limited shop (milk, bread, some sweets) really good wash houses, showers etc, and there was a byway out the back , so we set off on the bikes & went for a couple of miles before hitting the tarmac.. but the hills are pretty steep.

all in all, a good family holiday..

"Instead of setting fire to my house, how about a nice game of golf?"
