    Default Inner timing case on GSi engne...

    Is it needed? the 1.6 engine i have, the inner timing case is all snapped. So is it actually needed or can i just do without it?

    Do you mean the black plastic cam belt cover?

    you take a risc of something jumping up being flicked under the cambelt and jumping teeth its unlikely but still possible

    Unlikely but my alarm broke loose from its clamp and dusted mine pretty good ! 2 valves later..........she is good

    totally honest id say yes its needed, i wish i had one on my fan belt too, just had to re construct my loom near the headlight

    thanks for the replies. Do any of you know if it is the same as the 1.2 carb? i dont think it is, but im pretty sure the 1.2 spi is the same?

    I believe the mk1 is round on top were the cam pulley is and mk 2 items are square ,but both fit fine hope this helps

    so either one will fit onto the gsi engine? regardless of if its a mk1/carb/singlepoint etc ?
