Marginally better that standard, but Nova dials have a crap method of lighting so they'll never be good.
If you've got a Mk2, cav/astra/calibra dials are a great upgrade. if you can be bothered to cut the dash up that is

If you're fitting Lockwood dials you need to paint the needle a different colour ideally, I sometimes struggle to see mine.
+rep to both ,i wont be chopping the dash mind rather keep it as gm intended.

Is it possible to replace the existing bulbs for ones with a slightly higher wattage (like 5w instead of 3w or whatever they are?) or are bulbs that size all a standard output? Just thinking out loud.....(and now off to look it up)
just convert them to LED, made a difference with mine
