Sorry if I missed something Burgo. But apart from having these conditions/symptoms what has the girl done wrong? I understand if you don't want to go I to full details. My step dads brother has had serious mental health issues as long as I can remeber. But this talk of going to the police isn't going to get anywhere, unless she has done something illegal, again sorry if this has allready been mentioned, or a serious risk to herself Or others.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and proclaiming, “DAMN, what a ride!!”

burgo, i checked with the missus (a senior nurse) and unless your friend is actually going to admit that she needs help and is not showing any outward signs of distress, the system can do nothing...if you could get her really close family, ie: parents, or siblings to get involved, you are going to be out of luck, it stinks but it is the system we have.....

this is why people have stabbed random strangers in the street to get themselves institutionalised

    Hayley says...

The police CAN section her under section 136 of the mental health act, but only if she's in a public place and if she acts mental when they see her.

Harassment orders are done through the courts and solicitors, not the police, so they won't help there.

But if she threatens you, the police will get involved as its harassment. She could get arrested and her bail conditions would be to not go anywhere near or contact you (effectively a restraining order, as I said above).

Make sure you keep ALL messages from her - facebook messages of any sort, emails, texts, date/time of phone calls, etc. This will all add up to evidence which the police will need.
    ...that is what Hayley says

she has hurt an awful lot of people in doing what she has. her family all believed she gave birth to a little girl last monday so have been out and bought stuff for her and stuff!! thats just the start, its really not good.

anywho ive been up all night finding and collecting even more evidence and ive managed to get her to agree to meet me today so with all this extra evidence i can hopefully get her to agree to go to the hospital with me. i had a word with a friend of mine who works at the hospital going off stu's advice and it seems there is a special mental health unit so thats what im aiming for.

How the hell has she convinced her family she had a baby!!! thats some impressive scenario creation.

She needs uber help. And you need to have someone keep an eye on you too as this kind of stress etc can really take its toll on the person helping.

she convinced her family by getting these fake people involved. her family thought she had been staying with them for two months and all sorts , its proper complex **** and although i have proved it 100% now i still doubt myself simply because of how nuts it is.

my family seem to think im some kind of super human to have worked all this out and carry on as if nothing has happened and just care about helping her. i am honestly fine, little sleep deprived but thats my choice and until its sorted my brain wont shut up and let me sleep properly anyway.

thought i would update this. managed to get tanya to go to the docs yesterday just as i thought the gp couldnt really do much, he got her to fill out an anxiety questionnaire and then just referred her to counselling. go back to the front desk to book her in and they are booked up completely as far as july which is as far as they go with booking, however the woman on the desk knows them down there and is gonna try and pull some strings apparently, gonna call Tan on monday with what she has managed to sort out. they offered her to choice of medication or counselling aswell :s quite what medication can do is beyond me
