    Default Lairy cams for c20xe

Hi all, What would you advise for a fast road/track car?

Standard pistons etc, Just need cams and verniers.

May have throttle boddies in the end, been told piper 285's are good?

    Any info please

just whip the pistons out and get the pockets deepened. sure it only cost me £20

will never make decent power on mild cams

how do you know 285 doesnt fit?? it's only degrees, there isnt a lift mentioned.
you can fit 296 degrees cams in a stock c20xe, as long as the lift isnt huge.

i'm running 280 degrees cams on a stock XE, without any problems.

The pulse waves from lumpier cams usually plays havoc with the AFM apparently.
I'd sooner have a std XE lump on TB's, but I appreciate its more money than cams alone.

I'm sure a Grp-N chipped ECU & Optimax or Vpower fuel would probably give you what you require. Assuminmg the engine is fresh & in tune?
