i dont think that'll polish out mate, it would leave the lacqure very thin if it did and probably end up flacking

2000 grit wet and dry, rub it back a tiny bit with the paper wet, then polish it with diesel then t cut over it, always works for my sisters flip painted rover

id start at 4000 wet and dry mate,use a machine polisher with a compound to bring up the defect,and a finishing pad/refining polish to take the shine back,then wax it! if you have no idea what your doing let a pro do it,a garage will just tell you to respray it,search your area for a local detailer that does wet sanding.
aye, ive always used 2000 depending on how deep obviously, the deeper the scrape, the courser the paper
