    Default Graphics card fail

    Ok, i have a 2 month old PhenomII x4 , 8gb Ram , 1028mb 4800HD .

I was sessioning Modern Warfare 2 yesterday, did about 18 ranks in one sitting (yes, uber geek tastic) And something wierd happened

Red Grid of Blocks all over the screen
    Crash
    Blue Screen
    Reboot
    Blue Screen
    Boots
    Red/Blue lines across screen
    Blue Screen

Now this morning it works fine. Did i just overheat my card ? Surely it shoudn't overheat. The game runs perfectly on all full settings on 1980x1200

I had a card that used to do funky stuff like that and be 'smeary' as well. It was holed in a majorly small 'shuttle' case thing though not a full size PC.

In the end I pulled all the cooling stuff off and glued on heatsinks to all the chips I could get to and added a bigger fan and it worked

This was years ago and the stuff was old even at the time. Not sure I'd be so keen to do all that kind of thing now with what it all costs these days.
