I'm aware of that bit, but I'm sure this has been covered before. As whats to stop me selling just some random car? Along with the old get a V5 for a car thats laid up whilst the owner is away on holiday or whatever.

You WILL get the V5c if the present owner doesn't contest the application (V62?) for a logbook in your name.

However, this doesn't mean you legally own the car (yeah right!)

Same thing that stops you picking up anything and selling it, theres a whole load of laws relating to theft, handling stolen goods etc You kinda cut out the important bit of my post
