Default Bugger law of the sod is here

Right bit miffted as sold a 30k 1.3sr carb about 3 months back after it sat in the garage for 6 years doing nout and now after about two months of using my Nova again mine playing up.

I start it in the morn then cuts out give it a little gas idels hight then cuts out thrid/ fourth time with lots of blips of gas she run then gets faster n faster till idel at about 3-3.5k (ahhh cold engine) then you rev it hard n drops down to about 1100rpm once driven it 1 or 2 miles it settles down n is fine at about 700-800rpm (all rpm's are guesses as no rev counter).

I'm guess the about idel part of the carb is fooooked is it best to just replace it with a 32-34 webber off a ford feista/escort or golf etc....?

or is there a quick and cheap fix/ adjustment?
