    Default Flushed Tailgates

Im going to flush my own tailgate as soon as the weather gets a bit better. I am going to weld a metal plate in the recess so that its almost flush with the rest of the boot.
Im assuming I just fill it with P38 and sand it down ??
Is this right ? I just have doubts about that, because it will be quite alot of filler and I dont want it to crack or break away when I slam the boot down ??
    Any help please ladz .....

I want to do this to my nova as well. I was thinking of taking the tailgate off and putting something into the recess before welding a plate onto it. I think that will make it more solid. I don't know whether this would work as I haven't done it yet
