    Default Black car.... Polish??

I have a Question ..... Black cars i find are horrible for swirl marks my best mate has a corsa c sri in black and looks lovely once its all polished up.....

But every time he washes it and wipes it clean he gets the swirls back. He uses autoglym wash stuff microfibre sponge and a microfibre drying towel blabla..

Polish he uses the super resin. ive recently told him to try using ultimate quick detailer after washing it. he says it seems you have to put hard graft into getting a good finish on each panel. he says its helped with the swirling slightly and has a better finish...

I did say to get shot of autoglym stuff and get merguiars as imo its better stuff and try using the 3 step paint cleaning method or clay kit???

Any knowledge would be great + rep!!

SRP only fills the swirls, tell him to buy a decent wax and use it after SRP, that way he'll get a couple more washes before he needs to re-apply the SRP and wax

    or

get it machine polished by a professional and take their advice for keeping it as swirl free as possible

Hope he don't use a sponge?

Does he wash out the washing tool and drying towel? To make sure they are clean?

Using SRP is ok, but there are better, does he polish it every time? Does he clay the car?

Does he use any glazes? As they are a ultra fine polish in them to really remove the fine marks before waxing..

A good wash is a must as it will help to hide swirl marks.

He uses a microfibre wash mitt and yes he rinses both of them clean after each wash.

No he has not clayed the car yet as winter is on its way dont think he will and also he does not polish it every time but often enough more than quaterly in a year. But we may attack it soon with my clay kit.

He uses autoglym ultra deep shine also but he says its as good as the SRP in his opinion.

I put all my cleaning stuff thru the washing machine. Its the best way to clean them (no softener)

Claying the car is very important, as it lifts all the sh*t that stuff on the paint off.. At the mo he'll be polishing that in...

Deep shine is just a wax iirc. But once a car is polished right it shouldn't need doing that often if the car is waxed and washed regular.

Not after every wash, but wouldn't use them say 5 times.

You dont want dirt that can scratch paint building up.

Collinite 915 is an excellent wax for Black, gives a great deep shine. I use it after AG SRP on the Wifes black car and it lasts quite a while.
